John F. Marok From March 2 to April 2, 2017

The Lights and Shadows of Gatineau Park

VERNISSAGE: Tuesday, March 7th, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

John F. Marok chose Gatineau Park as the subject for his exhibition because “it’s filled with contradictions. We’re told the park is ‘the jewel in the Crown of Canada’s capital’ or, more bleakly that ‘it’s dying the death of a thousand cuts’ due to road building and residential construction.”

Controversial? Yes.  Read more

Charming little beings dangling in the air, intriguing sculptures, elegant ladies, captivating landscapes, gentle foxes, those are some of the artworks that charmed the visitors who attended La Fab studio artists' vernissage last Saturday. Take a look!

Reliving a page of our history

February 05 2017

Photographic Exhibit on display until April 2017

Relive the past through the Gatineau Valley Historical Society’s photographic exhibit. « Lost Villages » of Chelsea. Three large panels illustrate the tragic disappearance of Chelsea Island, Kirk’s Ferry and Cascades after the 1926-1927 flooding of the Gatineau River, caused by a massive hydroelectric project. Not many people know about this page of Chelsea history, so the Society’s exhibit is extremely relevant.
