A look on its beginnings...
La Fab Arts Centre, first know as the Chelsea Arts, Culture and Heritage Centre, began to take shape in July 2010. After having served for over 100 years as a rectory for priests, the building had come into disuse. The agreement formed between the parish of St. Stephen and a community group was led by a vision to create a centre for the arts and culture, and with the goal of saving this beautiful, historic building from demolition.
Following months spent renovating the building (much of which was done by volunteers from the community), La Fab officially opened its door in November 2012.
Renovated and transformed, the magnificient three-storey rectory is now a multifunctional centre accomodating a gallery, a boutique, several artists' studios, as well as different size rooms to rent for all types of artistic, cultural and literary activities.
